Brand and property owners, licensors, licensing agencies, licensees and their promotion partners are welcome to nominate their brands, licensed products or promotion programmes, providing that they have satisfied the following criteria:
- The promotion programmes, licensed products, brands and properties had to be executed, promoted and/or available for sale in one or more retail markets in Asia during the calendar year of 2006
- The sales performance must have met or exceeded the pre-determined targets or performance indicators set down by the nominees
- The nominated properties, products or programmes must have demonstrated outstanding, unique and creative execution of artwork and/or product design
Awards Categories
Best License (Entertainment)
- An award presented to an outstanding entertainment property that has enjoyed considerable popularity and excellent consumer product sales during 2006
- Open to all licensed properties that are solely based on Theatrical Films, Television Programs, and Direct to Retail Release on VHS and/or DVD within one or more Asian markets during Calendar Year 2006. (Note: Events that are staged for public attendance and/ or also broadcasted on television such as sporting events, car races, or concerts are not eligible to compete in this category.
- Target nominees: licensors, brand and property owners
Best License (Non-Entertainment)
- An award presented to an outstanding non-entertainment property that has enjoyed considerable popularity and excellent consumer product sales during 2006
- Open to all brands and properties that were not primarily promoted through Theatrical Films, Television Programs, and Direct to Retail Release on VHS and/or DVD within one or more Asian markets during Calendar Year 2006
- Target nominees: licensors, brand and property owners
Best New Property
- An award presented to newly licensed property which has generated strong consumer popularity and sales in 2006
- Open to brands or properties that have not been used as a base for the development of licensed product available, for sale or giveaway, at retail or through other such consumer outlets in the Asian market prior to January 1, 2006 and no later than December 31, 2006 inclusive.
- Applicable to both entertainment and non-entertainment categories
- Target nominees: licensors, brand and property owners
Best Licensee
- An award presented to a licensee whose product has demonstrated quality craftsmanship, design and packaging, a successful marketing strategy and excellent sales in 2006
- Open to licensees for their excellent coordination in the manufacturing, retailing, sales and distribution functions of the licensed property(s)
- Applicable to both entertainment and non-entertainment categories
- Target nominees: licensees (or their retail and distribution partners)
Best Licensing Agency
- An award presented to an Asian-based Agency which has demonstrated excellent licensing business skills on behalf of one or more properties in 2006
- Open to Independent licensing agencies, or In-house licensing division of companies with a division whose principle business is representing intellectual property rights, and whose base of operation is located in Asia
- Recognises the licensing skills and effort that an agency applied to the licensing of one particular property during the Calendar Year 2006
- Target nominees: licensing agencies
Best Marketing Campaign in Hong Kong
- An award presented to a Hong Kong-based company that has developed and executed an outstanding promotion for a licensed property in 2006
- Open to companies that are based and operate in Hong Kong
- Open to those companies who have developed and executed an outstanding promotion programme for a licensed property or a promotion in support of a licensed property that has achieved or surpassed its defined objectives
- Applicable to both entertainment and non-entertainment categories
- Target nominees: Hong Kong-based promotion agencies and their partners, including licensing agencies, licensees, marketing and advertising agencies
Assessment Procedures
Five finalists from each award category would be short-listed by our Award Evaluation Committee, comprised of professionals from the international licensing industry. The finalists will then be placed on a ballot by category and voted on by the licensing industry players and LIMA members to select the final award winners.
Disclaimer: All nominations will be subject to the Organisers' and the Award Evaluation Committee's final approval. The Organisers reserve the right and discretion to classify all nominations into the appropriate categories as the Organisers deem fit. The Organisers' decision is final. |
